Believe it or not, I’m just getting around to posting this image from last summer from my trip with Lauren to California. But, it’s fairly apropos since pitchers and catchers have reported to spring training and baseball season is just around the corner already.
As Lauren and I discussed our trip to southern California we made a list of sights to see and events to attend if possible. Fortunately, a night at Dodger Stadium made the cut and the Dodgers cooperated by being in town during our visit. I love baseball and I try to visit a stadium in each town I pass through if it is during baseball season. I never made it to Yankee Stadium and I still haven’t visited Wrigley, but after Fenway, Dodger Stadium was high on my list.
The stadium and the game didn’t disappoint. The crowd was lively, the setting was stunning, and the home team won which made the locals very happy. Other than slicing my foot open on the walk into the stadium, it was a pretty ideal evening. To top it all off, an incredible sunset painted the sky in the early middle innings and Chavez Ravine became a landscape photography opportunity as well! You really couldn’t ask for much more. Well, it could have been the Braves they were playing and Freddie Freeman could have gone deep to beat them in the late innings, but I’m asking a bit too much. Enjoy! And play ball!
