My last post was about an incredible sunset that I experienced from Clingmans Dome in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As the sun moved closer to the horizon the conditions changed quickly. The last post showed the sun fully covered by a cloud and the resulting crepuscular rays. This image was taken after that event but with the sun still emerging from the clouds. The resulting image was this very cool golden hued sky with the ridges of the Smokies in the foreground.
It’s a simple image, but the conditions made it a unique photo. It’s become one of my favorites captured in 2012. There are still a couple of images left to be shown from that magical fall evening. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy looking at this one.
